How Jackson Restaurant Week Charity Nominations Work

The most fun part of Jackson Restaurant Week goes beyond the food! Mississippi is one of the most generous states in our Union, showing unsurpassed support for the local charities that rely on donations to keep helping others. Eat Jackson, creator of Jackson Restaurant Week presented by Hotel & Restaurant Supply, has been a part of many wonderful charity events in the past, but none like this!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The Jackson Restaurant Week Advisory Council made up of area chefs, restaurant owners and industry representatives, meet in August to review the nominations and ultimately choose the top FIVE from all of the charity nominations received. They base their choices on the importance of the cause AND the volume of nominations received.

Of those five finalists, the one with the most ballots in Jackson Restaurant Week Ballot Boxes at the end of the week will take home the $10,000 Charity Check!

But first we need to know who YOU want to be in the running!

1. Nominate

Go ahead, take a minute right now to nominate your favorite local charity on the Jackson Restaurant Week Charity Nominations Form. Note: All nominated charities must be a 501(c)3 not for profit organization to be eligible for the Charity Check. Deadline for nominations is AUGUST 21, 2012 at 5 PM.

2. Share

Once you’ve nominated, make sure to SHARE the form using the social media sharing buttons at the bottom of the page, so others who share your support of your charity can nominate them, too!

3. Plan to Eat Out!

Once the top five charities are chosen, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite of the five each time you eat out during Jackson Restaurant Week, September 30 – October 6.  One meal at a participating restaurant equals one vote for your charity of choice!  The more you eat, the more you can vote.
